2014 ReCap - January

Category: Casual

During New Years Emma and I pretty much stayed home because Emma had this terrible flu. Shortly after New Years our good friend Svante came to Thailand to stay with us for a couple of months. Since we were new in Bangkok it was nice to have a guy friend with us to clubs and such. Before Svante arrived all we did was visit shopping malls and settling in our new condo σ(^_^;) In other words, our adventures started from here on!

Protests were going on around Bangkok at this time so friends and family were worried about us. We never got involved in any violent protests of course because we never visited the serious protest areas. As you can see in the Vine above, there was a stage in the middle of a road where people made speeches and had live performances. This was a non-violent protest spot, located in a big shopping area. The protests did not affect our daily lives much except for the traffic. In Bangkok traffic is always awful but during the protests it was worse because of the blockades. Well, enough about the protests for now! It had already been over a month since Emma and I arrived so it was time to enroll school (^o^)/

Emma had researched Walen School of Thai before we moved. Both of us have not attended school for a while so their easy-going atmosphere and learning technique interested us. We chose the school and paid ~25,000 baht for 180 lessons. I got my Education Visa from Walen too d(^_^o) Lucky Emma is a Thai citizen so she does not have to bother with visiting the Immigration Office every 90 days..

Now on to the fun stuff; Parties! It was in the end of January when we visited our first bus bar. They are the perfect preparty hang out ( ^ ^ )/■ You sit outdoors, listening to music and enjoy buckets of alcohol from the bus bar.

Since I have introduced a great preparty hang out, now let me introduce you to THE party. On the 31st of January, Sensation White Wicked Wonderland happened! Three days before Sensation White we decided to search for tickets to the event. Luckily we found a person who wanted to sell her early bird tickets so we got the tickets cheaper than expected. Our next task was to find a white outfit! Damn, easier said than done.. Took me two days to raid the shopping mall for an outfit _| ̄|○ Anyways, we suited up and headed to the event.

I have never seen so many people dressed in white.. When we entered the venue the staff handed out Sensation White LED bracelets to all the guests. We tried to turn our bracelets on but they would not light up. What the hell, we thought and decided to try out the bar instead. We bought coupons and got ourselves a six pack of Sensation White Heineken cans. And finally, the show started

I had an awesome night! Currently one of the best events I have ever been to. As you can see in one of the video clips, all the LED bracelets light up at the same time and it was so cool (((o(*゚▽゚*)o))) The Sensation White crew promised to come back to Thailand in 2015 and I do hope they will. It is already January 2015, but a Sensation event has not been confirmed ( ・᷄ ︵・᷅ ) Anyway, I highly recommend Sensation for you guys who loves a big party. Aaaaand this sums up my 2014 - January recap. I will try my best to blog more frequently from now on and post about the stuff some of you have requested. See you

3day2night Bar & Restaurant

Category: Casual

Bangkok is an amazing place when it comes to nightlife  There are tons of clubs, bars and pubs around the city but I have only been here for five to six months so I am no way near to have visited them all. However, I have discovered a few cool places of course (^_-) One of them is 3day2night Bar & Restaurant at Lad Prao Wanghin! The place is divided into three different areas; the restaurant and karaoke "houses" located by the farm, an indoor nightclub where DJs and live bands play and lastly an outdoor restaurant/bar where you can enjoy shisha and live bands. It sounds pretty weird that there is a farm at such a place but I guess that is what makes the place cool~!

The farm
The small karaoke houses

Farmer Lin with her pitchfork Emma, lol

I only took proper photos of the farm area unfortunately. Anyway, if you want to start off the night with karaoke and end it at a club then I highly recommend 3day2night, and also because it offers pretty much everything for a night out with friends. You can also visit their page on Facebook for more information about location and opening hours. Until next time then

Malls in Bangkok

Category: Casual

Wow, it has been two months since I last blogged. Guess it is time to update then (^^; ) So Lin was in Bangkok for vacation some weeks ago and we met up for shopping. Platinum shopping mall is our favorite mall in Bangkok! It is huge, has over 2000 shops and is pretty cheap so of course we had to show it for Lin. Here are some photos I took while we strolled around

Another shopping mall I would like to show you guys is Terminal21. It is located right by Asoke BTS station, has over 600 shops, various restaurants, cafés and cinema. Every floor has different themes which is pretty cool too d(´▽`)

There are a lot of shopping malls around Bangkok so I will probably make a part two of this post later on. Until then

Shopping in Bangkok

Category: Casual

Time sure has passed since I last updated. I have been traveling to Laos twice, attended Sensation White, laid sick at home, gone to school, been out partying until morning, eating non-stop at a BBQ buffet for several hours and so on. In other words; there is a lot to catch up with, but I will start with a small post about some of my recent buys here in Bangkok ヾ(´▽`)

A gorgeous note/sketchbook from a store in Platinum.
Ta-da! A jewelry box that looks like a book (○゚ε^○)v Bought in Paragon.
Cute pens for school
Jewelry from Forever21.
Choker bought from a store in Platinum.
Earrings from a store in Mega Bangna.
More earrings, but from H&M.
Ordered Anna Sui´s Fairy Dance from Ebay.
New circle lenses from Pinkyparadise. Reviews coming up!
Portable charger d(゚ー゚) Bought from a small store at the bus station in Mo Chit.

I left out new clothes for this post, but I will try to take pictures of my outfits from now on so stay tuned~!

First post from Bangkok, Thailand

Category: Casual

Finally, I am updating this blog, from Bangkok d(⌒o⌒) Emma and I arrived the 11th of December and we started off by staying at a small but modern hotel called 41 Suite Hotel. I really recommend this place because it is near the BTS station - Phrom Phong(which is close to the more "central" stations) and the price is pretty decent considered the location, class and security of the hotel. Not to mention their staff! We really got attached to one of their receptionists. The receptionist was very kind and even helped us search for cheap condominiums around Bangkok. Great service in other words! Click here to read more about 41 Suite Hotel.

My Vine when we were about to board the plane from Sweden

One thought came in mind while Emma and I searched for hotels before our journey; why are there windows through the bathroom and bedroom in almost every hotel in Bangkok?!
Nice interior at 41 Suite Hotel

A few days after our arrival we went to MBK just to go out and do anything other than visit condominiums. At that particular day there was a Japanese event at MBK, organized by a Japanese school. We felt kind of abnormal among all the cosplayers . . .

At the same day we also met up with a childhood friend of mine to eat Korean BBQ at Korean Town, located in Asoke. Unfortunately I forgot to take photos of the place, I blame myself for being too hungry and eager to dig in. After the dinner we made our way to Nana to visit an outdoor bar which is known for their shishas. They also had belly dancing performances and singers. Truly, an eastern atmosphere (〜・▽・)〜

Now I am skipping ahead to when we actually decided on which condominium to move in to. It took us about a week to look at different condminiums, decide on which one to take, sign the contract and move in. I freaking love this country. In Sweden it is impossible to find a condominium with a swimming pool, gym, library, hair salon, dry cleaning, café, restaurant and 7Eleven included in the building for a decent rent. Not even sure if there actually exist condominiums like that in Sweden . . . Anyway, back to our condominium. It is a two bedroom with 47 square meters. I would love to show you how the whole place looks like, but for now I will just post pictures of our view from both our balconies, afternoon and night, and my room. I will take pictures of the other rooms later on when it is cleaned properly, lol. And maybe the other facilities in the building too?

Balcony at the kitchen
Balcony at the master bedroom
And here is my room~!
Windows down to the floor

I only brought a small amount of clothes with me, compared to what my actual closet looks like in Sweden, so I am pretty excited about all the new clothes I will find here in Bangkok  Oh, did you spot my pink drinking hat that I got as a present from the previous Gals and Shit event? Of course I brought it with me to Thailand! Haha, okay this post is getting too long so I will just stop here and update later on. Take care

Gosh, how I miss blogging. If I had anything fun or interesting to blog about I would have already done it by now, but it has been too long since last time so I thought "fuck it, I will blog anyways". Now the question is what I am supposed to blog about . . . I guess this will be an update post then ! Of what I have been doing since summer ヾ(^∇^) Well, right after I returned from the Gals and Shit meetup in Finland I worked quite intense with only a few days off now and then. Whenever I was off I tried to plan something fun to do and it often ended with me meeting up friends to eat, hang out and/or party  There was one night when the girls and I planned to have a traditional girls night out, all dressed up with no guys with us. We started at a Thai restaurant, called Thai Boat because the restaurant is on an actual boat. I had never been there before and there were very good rumors about the place so I was really excited to try it out.

Here is my Vine of the food we ordered to share

I loved it  The restaurant was so cozy and the food was amazing. I wished I had brought my camera with me, but I was too lazy since we were going out to a club later on. Anyway, we continued our night at a club as mentioned but when we arrived to the club we got surprised by the guys that also decided to come to the same place. There goes our "girls night out"(_ _;)I do not complain thought, because we had fun after all ! Next up is when I went to my friends Circus-themed birthday party. She is an old classmate and I had not seen her for such a long time so it was really fun to attend the party, along with other classmates.

Julia dressed as the Lion King haha . . .

Only one week after the birthday party some of us from our old class met up for a classic home-party  Some of us had not seen each other since graduation so it was really fun to catch up with everyone. So many memories from our time togheter in school and previous parties

Me, doing a weird face . . .
Gorgeous Amanda
My babes, Julia and Jennifer
I do not even . . .

Now on to something completely different ! Last weekend I attended Eat Your Kimchi´s fanmeeting here in Stockholm. For those who do not now about EYK - They are a Canadian couple, living in Korea while working as "Youtubers". They are popular for their weekly videos, such as "Kpop Music Monday" where they review various Kpop music videos.

I have been subscribing their account for such a long time now and to get to see them for real was really weird, but in a good way. They are great people so it was very entertaining. Hope they enjoy their stay in Sweden (^○^) Phew~ I think that was all for my update post ! Ending with a remix of Seungri´s song. Until next time then

Skin- and haircare routine

Category: Casual

I have only been posting about Laos lately so I decided to change things up a little and do a post about my skin- and haircare routine (○゚ε^○)v To be honest I did not care that much about typical beauty routines a few months ago. I used to just wash my face with soap and occasionally use a heat protecting spray before straightening my hair. But when staying in Laos for such a long time I started to get motivated and interested in beauty products. I do not know if Southeast Asia is marketing more beauty products compared to Europe, or if I just randomly got the strenght to care. Anyway, these are the products I am currently using

1 - In Laos, POND´S is a cheap and popular beauty brand and you can find it basically in every convenience store. Since I came back from Laos, which is almost a month now, I have been using "age miracle" face wash every morning. Why use an anti aging product when you are only 20 years old, you ask? Better start now before it is too late, is my answer ! In the beginning my face was not used to this kind of product so of course my skin got dry. But that is why I use my next product~

2 - Nivea Visage Daily Essentials moisturizer. I have been using this product for quite a while actually. Since Sweden can be really cold and is overall very dry compared to humid asia, my face tend to get easily dry. Therefore I use this day cream so that my face will be smooth and the makeup will look even.

3 - Every night I wash my face with POND´S "no blackheads" and this I have also been doing for almost a month. So far I am very pleased with my skincare routine. I can not even recall the last time I had a nasty zit on my face !

4 - Now on to my haircare routine. If there is something that I suck at, then it is taking care of my hair. I have been bleaching the hell out of my hair for a long time and damaged it even more with heat products. But now I have dyed my hair darker and hopefully I will not dye it again for a very long time. However, when I do damage my hair with heat products I use Syoss heat protection spray to at least try to be a little merciful.

5 - This is my newest addition to my haircare routine. Once a week I will apply "Mandelolja", almond oil, from the brand APL on my hair and let it be throughout the night. The morning after I will of course have to rinse it away since it is very oily. I have only done this once so I am very excited to see if there will be any kind of improvement later on.

6 - There was a time when my hair was so damaged that I had no idea how it would possible repair itself. So I got desperate and bought this TRESemmé hair treatment masque for extra dry, brittle hair. At that time I basically used it every time I washed my hair, but now that my hair has repaired a little I have stepped down to only using it once a week. Why I did this is because when I used the masque it made my hair fall off, unusally much. Apart from the hair loss, the masque does actually make my hair feel healthier.

7 - And now to the last part of my beauty post. Once a week, for almost a month now, I have been scrubbing my body with an exfoliating glove to get rid of dead skin. I do not use a body scrub cream for this, just a normal body wash cream works fine for me. I will probably continue with this routine every week because I love how soft and smooth my skin gets after the scrub

Well, I hope I might have inspired or given ideas for your own skin- and haircare routine ! Everyone should take care of themselves ( ^▽^) Do you have an awesome routine that you want to share then go ahead~

The day after tomorrow

Category: Casual

The day after tomorrow ! That is the day when I will be reunited with my family in Laos  It was four years ago since I last was there and I am very interested to see how things have turned out. Deep down I do hope that things are just the same as I last left it, but of course countries change. Hopefully it has changed in a good way. Maybe good wifi connection? I will bring my laptop with me so if we have wifi at the house I will probably update my blog once in a while. Can not wait to show you guys the place I came from  Another thing I can not wait to show is my new hair color(s) ! Stay tuned (・ε・)ノ

Sunday ! The day when you get your shit togheter before a new week. My sunday is fully booked with things to do, and blogging is actually one of those things. Usually I do not blog about nothing special because I find it very boring but I thought that I might as well do a quick update just to keep things running. So, I have been out shopping after pay day and these are a few of the things I bought

The Body Shop products I bought was actually with my gift card that I received from my friends on my 20th birthday. Thank you, guys  Now I can smell like the flowers in my garden in Laos. The next item is a pair of a-JAYS earphones ! I am the kind of person who can not step out without a pair of earphones. Recently my other earphones broke and I had to use the basic Iphone earphones, which I hate because they are so uncomfortable. I have small ears so when I wore those it would hurt (ノД`) But finally, I could afford new comfortable earphones with good bass.

Three songs that are frequently played at the moment

Now on to what is up in my life ( ´ ▽` )ノ I am currently working, as always, and studying for my drivers license. I have been practicing on driving for 5 months and hopefully I will be able to get my license before the end of the summer. Speaking of summer ! I have quite a few plans for this summer. One month from now I will be leaving Sweden for Laos for a whole month  It has been 4 years since I last was in Laos so it will be interesting to see how things have changed. Anyway, when I get back I will try to work as much as possible for a whole month and when August arrives I will be leaving Sweden again, but this time for Finland ! Gals and Shit in Stockholm was appreciated by many so this time Alex and his friends will continue the legacy in Finland. Me and Kimii will be there to make sure that shit is going down once again  Well, I guess this sums up the update. Take care for now (^ー^)ノ~~

Random facts

Category: Casual

The past couple of weeks I have been aware of random things about myself. A few of these "facts" are new ones that I have recently discovered so I thought that I could write 10 of them down on a post _φ( ̄ー ̄ )

✪ I get awfully irritated by seeing advertisements looking like this; "Learn how to bake a DELICIOUS cake".. What if you wanted to bake a disgusting cake? No but seriousy, why would you want to bake anything other than a delicious cake? Those kind of advertisements are just too dumb, because it is obvious.

✪ Whenever I am tired of my real life, especially when I feel that I lost a bit of hope for humanity, I shut myself in my room and watch TV series non-stop.

✪ When I say that I do not care, I for fucking real do not care.

✪ I like almost all kinds of music genres, but I usually listen to Korean and Japanese music because I actually like the fact that I do not understand the lyrics. When I listen to music I listen to the feeling of it, not the lyrics about a girl that dumped you for another man.

✪ When I am at home, 8 out of 10 meals are eaten with chili flakes sprinkled on because I fucking love it !!

✪ I can never go on a special food diet, but I am currently trying to eat sweets only 3 days a week.

✪ Quite obvious from the previous fact, but yeah I love food too much. I am asian and I can not help it ┐(‘~`;)┌ It runs in the family.

✪ I am addicted to multitasking. Even when I brush my teeth I feel the urge to have something done while brushing. Or when I watch a TV series, sometimes I go on tumblr at the same time but on the phone.

✪ Whenever me and a certain friend party togheter we get so hyped and trigger each other to drink too much and it ends bad almost everytime for one of us or both sometimes lol . . .

✪ Many people consider me to be very open about myself and so on. The thing is that I really hate to feel unjustified and not understood and therefore I am trying my best to let the other part know what I think and feel.

Purchases

Category: Casual

So yeah, I blogged for a week ago but the post vanished because of the damn internet connection. What I wanted to blog about was my new purchases from Pinkyparadise and Ebay ! My expenses has increased with various bills, rent and savings after I graduated school so I can no longer afford to shop as much as I have before (╥_╥) That is why I had a hallelujah-moment when I remembered that I have money on my Paypal account\(*T▽T*)/My number one priority was to buy new circlelenses since I have had mine for a year, I think. This time I choose to buy brown lenses instead of blue, try a new brand of green lenses and bought the same grey ones  Since Pinky also has make up products, I decided to try out Dolly Wink's eyebrow pen #1 Honey Color.

GEO Tri Color Brown, G&G Gothic 3 Tone Green and GEO Tri Color Grey

After I purchased from Pinkyparadise I had a few dollars left so I raided Ebay, hoho~ I have been looking for a new phone case that works as a wallet. Luckily I found a cute one for a great price(^ω^)I even spotted an auction for a leopard cardigan which no one had betted on, so I betted on it and won it for $0.99 lol . . . My last purchase was Koji Eyetalk Double Eyelid Glue that I wanted to try out after watching Promise Phan's youtube tutorial on a make up while using the product ! I know I already have double eyelids since I am half swedish, but it would not hurt to have a deeper eyelid crease(人´∀`*)

Choose the pink case
The double eyelid glue stick and cardigan

I should be receiving these purchases the upcoming week. So excited O(≧▽≦)O

I finally took the time and effort in taking pictures with my system camera  Today(technically yesterday) I met up with Kimii, Marcus and his mother for a recording of a swedish tv program, called "Fråga Olle". We sat as the audienceヾ(^∇^) It lasted for 2 hours I think, so when the recording ended we headed to Max Hamburger for some dinner ! I ordered too much, but I am the kind of person that has to eat everything if I have paid for it so, yeah . . . I ate everything (=`(∞)´=) After the meal me and Kimii met up with our friend from the day before and companied him and his friend when they went for a beer or two(more like 3-5). But since me and Kimii did not drink anything today we decided to leave early (︶︹︺)

So, this tuesday turned out quite hectic. The original plan I had during the day was to visit L and then head in to town for some dinner with Kimii and our friend. While on my way to L's place I got an angry phone call that said that Kimii could no longer sleep at my place. I was furious at this matter and the fact that I had not eaten anything, since me and Kimii woke up at noon, made it even worse. After my short visit at L's place I had to go all the way back home again to pick up Kimii's stuff (⇀‸↼‶) All this made me 2 and a half hour late for the dinner . . . I seriously need to move closer to townヽ(#`Д´)ノ Well, at last I met up with Kimii and our friend for dinner at an asian buffet. My first and only meal of the day lol

Started the buffet with Mongolian BBQ
Then sushi~
Satisfied me and angry Kimii

And of course, dessert (ღ˘⌣˘ღ)

Yesterday me and Kimii visited Diana's place for some typical swedish "fika". We sat and talked about all kinds of things while eating delicious sweets (´ڡ` ) One of the things we talked about was our Japan trip next year ! Wow . . . I can't believe that the summer has ended and school has started. Well, at least for the students. I am no longer a student since I graduated this year ★ This tuesday night my woman, Kimii, came to Stockholm ! She has been staying at my place these past days and we have been hanging out with friends. During wednesday we met up with Emma and our newest member in Lovelipop, Line ( ´ ▽ ` ) She is so cute~ The plan was to eat at a japanese restaurant called Ki mama, but unfortunately it was closed when we arrived. Instead we ended up at our usual place, called the Panda.

Line and Kimiii . . . I have no idea what Kimii is doing lol

Ouff, we were so stuffed after the meal. Food-coma lol . . . When we were able to move again we said bye to Line and then headed to an asian store to buy Kimchi noodles (●♡∀♡) Marcus joined us then and when we were done shopping we went to a café to avoid the rain.

Gorgeous Kimii

At 7pm me and Kimii headed to Andrés place for dinner (ღ˘⌣˘ღ) The plan was to cut my hair, but somehow we managed to play games until 4am . . .
